Worship loops or b-roll?
Church video needs two different kinds of footage. Worship loops and countdowns sit behind lyrics and before the service, so they need to be calm, seamless and the right length. B-roll fills announcement videos, sermon bumpers and social posts with hands, city streets, coffee cups and sunrises. Most free sites are strong on b-roll and thin on loops.
For loops, see the best motion backgrounds for worship.
Check the license before Sunday
- Credit lines: Videezy's free clips and Magnific's free stock need visible credit. Pexels, Coverr and Mixkit don't.
- Restricted clips: some Mixkit clips are for personal projects only and can't appear in church social posts or YouTube videos.
- Recognizable people: Coverr doesn't hand you model releases, so be careful putting a stranger's face on a church ad.
- After you cancel: on Storyblocks' Individual and Small Business plans, you can't use past downloads in new projects.
Make it look like your church
The most popular free clips show up on a lot of church screens. Trim them short, add your own type and color, and mix in footage of your own people. For editing, CapCut is free on a phone and DaVinci Resolve is free on a computer.
