Check who the plan covers before the catalog
A huge catalog doesn't help if the plan doesn't cover your church. Most libraries sell a cheap plan for individual creators and a pricier one for organizations, and the difference shows up the first time a sermon bumper goes on the church's YouTube channel. Read our church music licensing guide for lyrics and streaming worship. These are the catches for background music.
- Your church's own channels: Epidemic Sound's Creator plan excludes channels owned or run by a business. Artlist's Social plan is for personal creators. Soundstripe's Personal and Pro plans license you, not your church, and the license stays in your name if you leave.
- Paid ads: Artlist needs Pro, and Epidemic needs Pro, Business or higher. Soundstripe Business covers paid social for a local audience. Music Vine's Pro Lite subscription doesn't cover paid ads.
- Livestreams: Epidemic's Business plan excludes livestreams, with streaming listed from Business Plus up. Mixkit's free music license covers YouTube and streaming.
- Playing a video in the room: Musicbed leaves public performance rights to you, Soundstripe lists live performances of its music as prohibited, and Music Vine sells event coverage as an add-on. PremiumBeat puts events under its pricier Premium or Business licenses.
- Nonprofit rates: Music Vine, Soundstripe and Musicbed publish options for non-profits. Epidemic points non-profits to a custom Enterprise plan, and Artlist and PremiumBeat publish no church discount.
- Cancelling: Artlist and Epidemic keep videos you published while subscribed covered. Soundstripe and PremiumBeat don't let you use downloads in new projects once your plan ends.

Pixabay has free music under the same license as its photos, including commercial use, with no credit line required. It works for announcement and promo videos, but you can't sell or distribute a track on its own, and with millions of uploads you'll sift to find the good ones.
