The short answer: is Fontshare right for your church?
Fontshare is a free library of about 100 font families from Indian Type Foundry, including Satoshi and General Sans, licensed for print, web, video and logos. It's best for churches that want modern, professional type without paying for it. The catch: you can't hand the font files to outside designers or printers; they download their own copy.
Who Fontshare is for
Great for
- Churches that want a modern brand font at no cost
- Designers building series graphics who need clean sans and display type
- Teams that want one font for print, website and video
Skip it if
- Designers who want hundreds of choices. Fontshare's 100 families are curated, so a bigger free library has more variety.
- Churches that want to offer fonts inside an online template tool for other people. Fontshare's own license bars that, so use an open-source font.
How churches use Fontshare
A modern series look
Pair Clash Display for the title with General Sans for details, and use the same fonts on screens, Instagram and the bulletin.
Rebrand on a budget
Fontshare's license lets you use its fonts in a logo and even register that logo as a trademark.
A website that matches
Self-host the fonts on your church site, or use the Fontshare API, so the web matches your print.

Fontshare FAQ
Is Fontshare really free for churches?
Yes. Fontshare says all its fonts are free for personal and commercial use, in any media, including print, websites, video and social media.
Can we use a Fontshare font in our church logo?
Yes. The ITF Free Font License allows logos and wordmarks and lets you register them as trademarks. You can't modify the font files themselves.
Can our volunteers use the same fonts?
The simplest route is for each volunteer to download their own free copy from Fontshare. The license only allows internal sharing among an organization's employees.
Who makes Fontshare fonts?
Fontshare is run by Indian Type Foundry. Its Closed Source fonts are exclusive to Fontshare, and its Open Source fonts come from other designers under the SIL Open Font License.
